    Captain (later President) Ramon del Fierro Magsaysay (August 31, – March 17, ) was a menber of the USAFFE during World War II. At the outbreak war, he joined the motor pool of the 31st Infantry Division of the Philippine Army. When Bataan surrendered in , Magsaysay escaped to the hills, narrowly evading Japanese arrest on at least four occasions. Even though the Americans and Douglas McArthur left and told the Filipinos to surrender to the Japanese.
