Taiwo Awoniyi Michael (born 12 August ) is a Nigerian footballer who plays as a striker for Liverpool.
Liverpool career[]
On 31 August , it was confirmed that the Nigerian had signed for the club for a reported fee of £,, potentially rising to £3,, The striker was immediately sent out on loan to Frankfurt for the season.
After two disappointing loan spells, Awoniyi was sent out to Royal Excel Mouscron in the Belgian League. The Nigerian put in some much improved performances, bagging nine goals throughout the season.

Taiwo Awoniyi beginnings
Taiwo Michael Awoniyi was born to Mary Motunrayo and Elder Solomon Adewoye Awoniyi in Illorin, Kwara state.
His father, Elder Solomon, was a policeman who was only able to provide just enough to help his family survive. Taiwo found joy in playing football and soon, he got into the Kwara Football Academy.

[edit]In , Awoniyi was voted the Most Valuable Player at a Coca-Cola football competition in London. His performance at the competition was spotted by Seyi Olofinjana who invited him to join the Imperial Soccer Academy.[4]
