The Psychology of Family
On the need to study family structures and family interactions in the Psychology of Family
The psychology of family examines how and why we have families and close relationships as also the dynamics of family interactions. The structure of families is based on evolutionary biology, anthropology, history and sociology and the roots of family systems are found within these disciplines. However studying family structure will show us how family systems have evolved over time but may not directly tell us why family relationships develop in the first place. Family relationships are in turn studied with psychology, child development and philosophy and suggest why family forms the basis of our existence. The interdisciplinary approach to the study of family will have psychology at its core as human evolutionary biology, sociology, philosophy have significant psychological components.

Definition
“That’s not empathetic, the way you treated me like this!”. How many times you heard that statement in our daily life situations, either we are in the middle of conflict disagreements or in casual conversation with co-workers or family members. Not much people know about “the inside” or psychological aspects of empathy itself. Empathy by definition is feeling connected and being in the shoes of others by using our intuition in order to recognized human emotions.
Stages of Empathy
The empathy begins with intuitions and ends with the prediction for able to recognize somebody else emotions responses. There are five stages of empathy:
1. Intuition
Generally speaking, we can feel intuitively what other’s person emotions and feelings about something happened.

Next step is the beginning to feel “connected”.

Pari Saberi, an influential Iranian playwright, director, novelist, translator, and actress, was born into a cultured family in 1932 in Kerman, Iran. Her early exposure to art and literature set the stage for a lifelong commitment to arts. Encouraged by her uncle, a prominent cultural figure of the time, and her mother, Saberi was sent to Paris at the age of twelve to continue her education. Her move to France coincided with the post-World War II era, a period marked bygd significant cultural and artistic transformation. In Paris, Saberi studied cinema and directed a short bio about Omar Khayyam, a 12th-century Persian polymath and poet.
