    Nyanda Janelle Thorbourne, better known by her stage name/mononym Nyanda, is a Jamaican-American singer and songwriter from Kingston, Jamaica. Nyanda is a member of the R&B/reggae duo Brick & Lace whose debut album, Love Is Wicked, was released through Geffen / Kon Live in 2007 and featured the chart-topping single "Love Is Wicked".

    In February 2013, Nyanda released her first promotional single, "Trouble",[2] after announcing that she would be pursuing a solo career in music.[3] Her first official single, "Slippery When Wet", was released in September 2013.

    Nyanda Thorbourne was born to an African-American mother and a Jamaican father in Kingston, Jamaica.[4] She has 3 sisters, Tasha, Nailah and Candace Thorbourne.[5] Nyanda went to Campion College High School during which time her group Brick & Lace was formed. She has been balancing being a mother, running a household, family life, a recording career, and a business, which evolved out of being part of the popular group Brick & Lace.     Jamaican musical duo

    Brick & Lace are a Jamaican-American dancehall/R&B (or reggae fusion) musical duo consisting of sisters Nyanda and Nailah Thorbourne.[1][2] According to Billboard, their name reflects both the tough and soft sides of femininity.[3]

    Brick & Lace originally signed to the Geffen label as a trio with their third sister, Tasha.

    Nailah and Nyanda continue to perform, but Tasha now works behind the scenes and co-writes songs for the group.[4] Their first Geffen Records' single "Get That Clear" and their first album Love Is Wicked were both released in 2006.[3]
