Swedish House Mafia (SHM) are a Swedish housesupergroup consisting of Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso. The group officially formed in late , were placed at number ten on the DJ Mag Top DJ Poll ,[4] and have been called "the faces of mainstream progressive house music",[5] while being credited for "setting the tone for the EDM boom of the early s, more than any other act in modern dance music".[1] In , they were ranked at number twelve on the DJ Mag Top Poll.[6] They are recognized for bringing the Progressive house genre into the mainstream around , tillsammans with their compatriot Avicii, standardizing a sound that until recently was relegated to the underground EDM.
