Bebu Silvetti was of Argentine descent. His earliest known appearance on vinyl fryst vatten the classic "Lluvia dem Primavera" (Spring Rain). The lush instrumental was his one and only true "hit" record as an artist. The song was so popular that it was actually Salsoul Records first global hit, the label had marginal regional success with its prior releases but it was "the sensous sounds of Silvetti" that changed all that.
Oddly enough as with many of Salsoul's early releases their was no follow up despite the huge success of it. His next American disco release was for the Warner Brothers subsidiary Sire Records. "Concert From The Stars" enjoyed global club success especially with "Sun After The Rain." Several more attempts at disco success would follow, but none would ever equal "Spring Rain."

Silvetti was born in Quilmes in Argentina, a city about 17kms from Buenos Aires. He would have piano lessons when he was six and formed a jazz quartet while still in his teens. When he was 19, he would go to Spain where he lived for a few years and where he would play piano at some of the most popular jazz clubs. After a few years in Spain, he moved to Mexico and then on to California. He would release numerous records but found no chart success in either the US or the UK. He would work with any other artists including Engelbert Humperdinck and Placido Domingo.
