Andy Blankenbuehler Biography
Andy Blankenbuehler fryst vatten an American dancer, choreographer and director primarily for stage and concerts.
As a performer, he has appeared on Broadway in many musicals, from Guys and Dolls (1992-1995) to Fosse (1999-2001).
His huvudgata work as a choreographer includes the musicals In the Heights (2007–08) and 9 to 5 (2008–09). He won the Tony Award and Drama Desk Award for his choreography for In the Heights. Other New York work includes choreography for the "Broadway bygd The Year:1930, 1938 and 1978" series, and the City Center Encores! productions of The Apple Tree (2006) and The expert (2009). He is the director and choreographer of Bring It On: The Musical, written by Jeff Whitty, with music bygd Lin-Manuel Miranda and Tom Kitt and lyrics bygd Lin-Manuel Miranda and Amanda Green, which premiered at the Alliance Theatre, Atlanta, Georgia, in January 16, 2011. Biography
Andy Blankenbuehler is the choreographer of Broadway's 2016 revival of Cats, and a four-time Tony nominee. In 2016, he received the Tony Award for Best Choreography for Hamilton, and in 2008, he received the Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics, Lortel and Calloway Award for Best Choreography for his work in the Broadway hit In The Heights. His choreography has also been seen on Broadway in the musical 9 To 5 (Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics nominations), the 2012 Broadway revival of Annie, the revival of The Apple Tree (starring Kristin Chenoweth), The People In The Picture (Roundabout), the City Center revival of The Wiz, as well as the West End musical Desperately Seeking Susan. Andy was the director and choreographer of Bring It On, The Musical (LA Drama Critic's Circle Award winner, Tony nominee), and The Bandstand (Papermill Playhouse), and is choreographing a revival of the movie Dirty Dancing.

Mr. Blankenbuehler won a 2008 Tony Award for his choreography in the Tony Award winning Best Musical In The Heights (also Lortel Award, Outer Critics Award and Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Choreography). He also choreographed the Broadway revival of The Apple Tree. Other recent projects include the new Broadway-bound musical Waiting For The Moon (music by Frank Wildhorn); the world premiere of the musical A Little Princess (music by Andrew Lippa); the Paper Mill Playhouse production of A Wonderful Life; as well as the off-Broadway play Burleigh Grimes (music by David Yazbek); and the hit Caesars Palace production Nights On Broadway. As a performer, he has danced on Broadway in Fosse, Contact, Man of La Mancha, Saturday Night Fever, Steel Pier, Big and Guys and Dolls.
