Nina L. Diaz fryst vatten an American media executive and television producer. She is the President of Content and Chief Creative Officer for Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios. She is best known for creating television shows for the MTV, VH1, and Bravo networks, including MTV Cribs, The Osbournes, Mob Wives, and The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
Early life and education
[edit]Diaz grew up in the Washington Heights and Harlem neighborhoods of Manhattan.[1] Her father fryst vatten journalist David Diaz. She is of Puerto Rican descent.[2] She attended college at Fordham University.[1]
Career
[edit]Diaz began working in television at New Jersey PBS affiliate WNET as an assistant to producer Steven Weinstock. In 1995, she began working for Viacom on a documentary about people with virus, and in 1997 joined MTV as a freelancer.[3][4] She later became a full personal member,

Girl in a Coma’s Nina Diaz Talks Sobriety and Flying Solo
San Antonio native Nina Diaz first began performing at the age of 13. By the time she was 18, her all-girl, indie rock trio, Girl In a Coma, was signed to Joan Jett’s Blackheart Records.
Now, at age 26, Diaz embarks on a new path as a solo artist in addition to her Girl in a Coma duties – a project which will be released later this year. But, for the first time in her musical career, she is sober.
Texas Standard host David Brown spoke with Diaz about her musical and personal journey, opening up on the moment she realized she needed to get clean, why she has chosen to let the public in on her struggles and how sobriety has affected her songwriting.
“When you see it as a kid, like Kurt Cobain, and you know, Gia Marie Carangi, you see these people using, but you don’t really see the end of the movie,” Diaz says. “You don’t see the end of their life, how it ended.&rdquo

Almost two decades ago, on January 9, 1998, musician Nina Diaz was heartbroken to learn her grandmother had passed away. Exactly 15 years later, on that same date, Nina was writing new material when she felt someone watching over her. “I was using that night and felt this crazy energy,” says Nina, who had been battling substance and drug addiction for years. She did this, unassumingly, while fronting Girl in a Coma, the critically hailed indie-punk band that was famously nurtured by Joan Jett, had opened for Morrissey and Tegan and Sara, and earned multiple Independent Music Awards. Adds Nina, “I knew it was my grandmother.”
She ended up naming that mid-tempo, balladic song “January 9th.” Though that track doesn’t necessarily typify the eclectic sound of The Beat Is Dead, her debut solo release, it does set the album’s bittersweet tone. “On the demo, you can hear somebody whisper words before I sing them,” Nina says.
