Jeanne Cooper knows she's going to be a star. Everyone who knows Jeanne Cooper knows she's going to be a star. And after an all-too-brief meeting with the charming young actress, even I'm disposed to think so.
In case you don't know who Jeanne Cooper is, she's made more than 60 TV films, the most recent of which are The Country Husband, last Thursday's PLAYHOUSE 90 production, and Sometimes It Happens, for FORD THEATER opposite Guy Madison. Also in the can is a film for the GEORGE SANDERS MYSTERY THEATER (one of the first three shows) tentatively titled Try It My Way. The latest information reveals that the SANDERS show has been sold to NBC for early 1957 airing, which means, if you're the producer of a shaky NBC show, brother, start worrying.

Wilma Jeanne Cooper (October 25, 1928 – May 8, 2013) was an American actress, best known for her role as Katherine Chancellor on the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless (1973–2013). At the time of her death, she had played Katherine for nearly 40 years, and her name appears on the list of longest-serving soap opera actors in the United States.
Cooper also appeared on numerous episodic television series in the 1950s and 1960s, as well as several film roles. She was the mother of three children, the eldest being actor Corbin Bernsen.[citation needed]
Early life
[edit]Jeanne Cooper was born in Taft, California, the youngest of three children of Albert Troy Cooper and his wife, the former Sildeth Evelyn Moore.[1][2] The family lived in Kern County for several years, first in Taft until 1942 and then in Bakersfield. A Young and the Restless look back: Jeanne Cooper's groundbreaking facelift turns 40 years old
On March 28, 1984, The Young and the Restless' Jeanne Cooper went where no other television star had gone before when she allowed the soap to air footage from her real-life facelift. It wasn't something the actress planned when she first decided to do this for herself, but Y&R producer Bill Bell thought it would be fitting for her character, Katherine Chancellor, to do the same.
After Cooper asked for time off work to recover from her procedure, Bell asked her if they could go a step further.
"He came down to the dressing room one day, and he said, 'Jeanne, how would you feel about if we put Katherine through this?'" Cooper told the Television Academy in a 2009 interview. "I said, 'Well, it's a very good idea, since I'm going through it now and inom am Katherine.'"
Once Cooper was on board, she insisted that everything be done with the utmost attention to detail, documenting the emo
