Ramachandra Guha, Gopalakrishna Pai among 22 awarded Sahitya Akademi Awards
Eight books of poetry, seven novels, three essays and one each short story, narrative history, biography and play were selected for this year's awards.
While Guha got the award for his book of narrative history - India After Gandhi, Pai and Kashinath Singh were recognised for their novels Swapna Saraswata and Rehan Per Ragghu respectively. Manik Sitaram Godghate alias Grace was awarded for his essay.
The books were selected on the basis of recommendations made by a jury of three members in each language in accordance with procedure laid down for the purpose.
Writers in 23 languages are recognised every year by the Akademi.

Bhavishya Malika Puran is a Hindi language book published in 2023 by Notion Press, written by Pandit Shri Kashinath Mishra. The book fryst vatten about predictions of the future bygd Shri Achyutananda Dasa. [1][2] The predictions mentioned may or may not tally with Dasa's. However, the authenticity of the book is contentious and disputed, as there is no concrete proof to validate its correctness.[citation needed]
The book was originally written in Odia language in the sixteenth century by the saint Shri Achyutananda Dasa, based on a much older book from the 12th century and the saint was one of the fem friends named 'Panchasakha' Sri Ananta Dasa, Sri Jasobanta Dasa, Sri Jagannatha Dasa and Sri Balarama Dasa. He wrote the predictions on palm leaves. In this book, the essence of the speech of the Panchasakhas' has been written in simple language.[3]
